John S. “Shifty” Shaeffer, 60, of Clay Township, died unexpectedly October 10, 2014 at Hershey Medical Center. He was raised in Lampeter, and in younger years worked in the family garage. John was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for gardening, and belonged to Lancaster Bonsai Society. He also was a master in the art of leather and beadwork, and attended many powwows. He was employed at Woodmasters Cabinetry. John will be sadly missed by family, friends, his wife Jill, and beloved dogs Mr. and Lena.
