John W. Givin, Jr., 81, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John W. Sr., and Vera Long Givin. He was married to Shirley Costello Givin. John served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He served aboard several ships including the U. S. S. Midway. He owned and operated John Givin and Associates in Lancaster. He was always interested in furthering his education and even took courses online into his 80s. He also enjoyed fishing and boating. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Lancaster. In addition to his wife, he will be lovingly missed by: 2 daughters, Laurie Givin (Brian Trapp) of Lebanon, OH, Lexine Kolb (David Kolb) of Lancaster; 2 grandchildren, Tyler Givin Kolb and Peyton Alexis Kolb. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Givin Fisher. A memorial service will be held from the Furman Home for Funerals 59 W. Main St. Leola on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 1 PM.
