Jonathan S. Esh, 83, of 161 Clover Hill Road, Christiana, died Saturday, November 16, 2013 at his daughter's home in Gap. Born in Intercourse, he was the son of the late Levi and Annie Smucker Esh. He was the husband of Annie Beiler Esh and the late Lizzie Stoltzfus Esh. A farmer, Mr. Esh was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is also survived by five children, Amos, husband of Malinda Stoltzfus Esh of Christiana, David Esh of Newburg, Jerre, husband of Ruthie Lee Esh of Christiana, Mary, wife of Stevie Stoltzfus of Lykens, Sadie wife of Jonas Beiler of Gap; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Emanuel, husband of Ida Esh, Levi, husband of Fannie Esh both of Quarryville, Aaron husband of Betty Esh of Newburg, David husband of Arlene Esh of Narvon, Danny Esh of Atglen; sisters, Katie wife of Emanuel Fisher of Bird-in-Hand, Sally, wife of Jacob Flaud of Newburg, Anna Mary, wife of Christ Lapp of Paradise, Lydia wife of Amos Stoltzfus of Narvon. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Naomi Esh; a son, Levi Esh; grandsons, Markus Stoltzfus and David Beiler; great-grandchildren, Susie Ellen and Amos Allen; brothers, Stephen Esh, Amos Esh, and John Esh.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 from the late home. Interment: Bart Cemetery, Georgetown. Viewing: at the late home till the service.
