     Kenneth A. Rineer, 74, of 53 N. Hershey Ave., Leola, entered into rest on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 unexpectedly at home of natural causes.  He was the loving husband of Ruth Rineer.  They observed their 28thwedding anniversary in April.  Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Amos and Hazel Muehling Rineer. 

     Mr. Rineer was a tool and die maker for the National Bearings Co., Lancaster retiring as a supervisor.  He also was an U.S. Air Force veteran in the 1950's. 

     In addition to his wife, he will be greatly missed by: daughter, Erika Yenser, Oakland, MD; grandchildren, Kenneth Mikael Rineer and JolieMay Rineer; great-grandchildren, Zoey and Justin; son, Jack Bishop, Leola; daughter, Therese wife of Mike Brian, Manheim; grandchildren, Holly Widdowson and Kim Widdowson; brothers, C. Allan husband of Eleanore Rineer, Gary E. Rineer, both Lancaster; sister, Mary wife of Richard Silar, York; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, A. Hunter Rineer Jr. and a sister, Margaret Palladini preceded him in death.

     Mr. Rineer enjoyed toy trains, NASCAR, Civil War battlefields, and landscaping. After retirement, Ken and his wife Ruth devoted their time to improving the lives of those that surrounded them. Ken will always be remembered as the handy man who was willing and able to fix any problem. He spent his last day on this earth, as he spent every day, working side by side with his wife helping his family and neighbors. 

 

     Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola.  Greeting time with family: 10-11 a.m. Monday.
