Kenneth Ray Smith, 66, passed away in the early afternoon on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 after recent health challenges. Born June 16, 1952 in Lancaster, PA to the late D. L. Smith and Ethel (Hoover) Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sharon (Weaver) Smith and four daughters Katelyn, Wilmington, DE; Julia, wife of Nils Rose, Hamburg, Germany; Molly, Baltimore, MD; and Sierra, wife of Jaron King, New Holland, PA. He is survived by his three siblings Dana Smith, husband of Jane, Reinholds; Elta, wife of Ron Garber, New Holland; and Timothy Smith, husband of Lori, Newmanstown. He will also be lovingly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Ken graduated from Pequea Valley High School in 1970. In his early career he worked for former Sperry New Holland before becoming self-employed in construction. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, skiing, and whitewater canoeing. He was a member of Grace Family Church in New Holland. Ken loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them and was always ready to share a good story.
A celebration of life will be held at Grace Family Church at 415 S. Kinzer Ave in New Holland at 7pm on Friday, September 14. Prior to the service, a time to greet the family will begin at 6pm. If desired, contributions may be made in his name to the Christian Motorcycle Association or Grace Family Church.
