L. Noreen Thompson, 81, of Lancaster, formerly of Leola, entered into rest on Saturday, July 13, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Alex R. Thompson who died in 1999. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, she was the daughter of the late William and Grace Robinson George.
A homemaker, Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Leola United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed sewing, quilting and painting.
She is survived by: four children, Bob Thompson, Leawood, KS, Scott married to Joan Thompson, Anchorage, AK, David married to Tina Thompson, Lee’s Summit, MO, Barbara married to David Hornberger, Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: a daughter, Patricia Ann Thompson; a brother, Lex George; and a great-grandson.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Leola United Methodist Church, 7 W. Main St., Leola. There will be no viewing; however, the family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private in Brownstown Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
