Martha A. Forry, 88, of Lancaster, went peacefully home to heaven surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her residence. Born in West Lampeter Township, she was the daughter of the late Clair R. and Martha Martin Ressler. She was the loving wife of Mervin R. Forry to whom she was married for 68 years.
She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Martha enjoyed her Sunday School Class, sewing circle and spending time with her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and to the New Jersey shore. Martha worked at Central Market in Lancaster for 50 years. She worked for Sam Sheaffer and Sons, C. Z. Martin and Sons and John Markley Meats.
She is survived by three children; Judith A. Glick wife of the late Marvin L. Glick, of Mount Joy, Edwin L. husband of Karen Bomberger Forry of Lancaster, Herbert E. husband of Patricia Ann Coppock Forry; three grandchildren, Chad, Cheri, and Kelli; six great-grandchildren, Morgan, Caroline, Reese, Clayton, Anna and Worth; three sisters, Norma Bowman, Ruth Hoober and Rhoda Landis and sister-in-law, Betty Ressler.
She was preceded in death by; two grandchildren, Kristi Michele, Christopher Marvin Glick; siblings, Thelma Mylin, Elma Ament, Miriam Landis, Clair Ressler and Gerald Ressler.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM, at Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at the church. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
