Mary Jane Myers, 85, of Brethren Village, formerly of Wilson Ave., Leola, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy, with her family by her side after a brief struggle with leukemia. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Daisy Keiper Buckwalter. She was the loving wife of the late J. Galen Myers who died in 2009.
A homemaker, she also worked for the CV School District Cafeteria and Brethren Village in the Dietary and Food Department. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, New Holland, for over 60 years and served in the children's department for many years. She drove for Meals-on-Wheels, and especially enjoyed crafts, flower gardening, traveling and family gatherings.
Mary Jane will be lovingly missed by: three children, Tom husband of Jennifer Myers, Lititz, Patti wife of Michael Seachrist, Landisville, Gale wife of Jeff Shirk, Brownstown; six grandchildren, Keri Altland, Katie Huston, Beth Lougee, Marc Myers, Dana Nau, Kyle Shirk; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert husband of Kristin Buckwalter, Portland, ME. She was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Doebler.
A memorial service will be held from the Brethren Village Chapel, 3001 Lititz Pike, (Neffsville) Lancaster, on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. The family will greet friends following the service.
