Melvin R. Petersheim Jr., 55, of 810 Vintage Rd., Christiana, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in Farmville, VA. Born in Bart, he was the son of Melvin R. Petersheim, Sr. married to Sarah Esh Petersheim and the late Rebecca Lapp Petersheim. He was the husband of Sylvia Stoltzfus Petersheim. He was the owner of Singing Spring Grocery Store and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Besides his wife and father, he is survived by: children, Naomi wife of Christ Stoltzfus of Farmville, VA, Catherine wife of Elmer Smucker of Strasburg, Edna wife of Melvin Beiler of Farmville, VA, Elam Jay Petersheim at home, Mervin Jay husband of Linda Stoltzfus Petersheim of Kinzers; seven grandchildren; siblings, Enos L. husband of Annie King Petersheim of Paradise, Amos L. husband of Priscilla Stoltzfus of Gordonville, Reuben L. husband Fannie Miller Petersheim of Quarryville, Sylvia L. wife of Christ Ebersol of Ronks, Sadie L. wife of Samuel Fisher of Fountain City, IN, Lydia wife of Elmer Stoltzfus of Kinzers, Omar husband of Sarah Stoltzfus Petersheim of Quarryville.
In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Nancy Marie.
The funeral will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 9:00 AM EST at the residence of Jacob Beiler, 814 Vintage Rd., Christiana. Friends may call from the time of this notice till the service at the late home. Interment in Bart Cemetery.
