Mildred “Millie" Mae Denlinger, 96, of Landis Homes, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on February 11, 2015 ready to return to Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She was born December 7, 1918 in Martindale, PA to the late Phares and Sarah Mohler. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Clarence E. Denlinger in 2004. Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was a lifelong member of East Chestnut Street Church, and their sewing circle. Mildred enjoyed all types of needlework, and she made sure that all of her children and grandchildren received a nice, warm comforter. She enjoyed cooking, and used her cooking experience at Willow Valley Restaurant and Lampeter-Strasburg cafeteria. Gardening in her flower garden was another hobby, and she always found an empty nook or cranny to fit another flower. At Landis Homes, she spent her time completing jigsaw puzzles with her friends, devoting her quiet time to reading the Bible, and completing many cross-stitch projects.
Mildred is survived by her four children: B. Laverne, wife of John M. Martin, Mount Joy; Kenneth E. Denlinger, husband of Matilda A., Lancaster; Donald E. Denlinger, husband of Kathleen M., Strasburg; Loretta M., wife of Edward H. Benson, Lancaster; 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
