Miriam R. Adkins, 88, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center. Born in West Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin S. and Mae Stoner Nolt. She was the wife of the late Lorain F. “Tom" Adkins who died in 2006.
A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and needlepoint. She also enjoyed jig-saw puzzles and playing bingo.
Surviving are: a son, Robert husband of Karen Adkins, Leola; a daughter, Kay wife of Terry Rollman, Lancaster; 5 grandchildren, Sean (Michele) Rollman, Tammy (Barry) Spece, Kandace Wertz, Hope (Michael) Adkins-Durante, James (Janice) Adkins; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; a sister, Mary Haley. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Cafoncelli.
The family would like to thank the staff at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center for the respect and care they had given to Miriam.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11 am from the Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola with interment following Centre Church Union Cemetery, East Earl.
