Moses E. Riehl, 82, of 156 Octorara Trail, Gap, PA, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, Jan. 1, 2017. He was the husband of Lena Z. Riehl who died in 2003. They had been married 46 years and had a family of eight children: Nancy Jane wife of Moses P. Fisher, Gap, Elmer S. husband of Linda (Stoltzfus), Coatesville, Elam S. husband of Anne Mae Dienner Riehl, Aary Mae wife of Allen Stoltzfus, Ruthie wife of Ben Lapp, all of Gap, Eli (died 2004) was married to Linda (Fisher) now wife of Aaron Esh, Gordonville; Verna S. wife of the late Mervin L. Beiler, Narvon. Moses Riehl Jr. husband of Erma, Coatesville; 49 grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; 65 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Joanne Riehl, Beatrice Riehl and Rebecca Riehl; brothers, Ephraim husband of the late Linda Riehl, Kinzers, Aaron husband of Norma Riehl, Denham Springs, LA.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Elam S. and Aary Esh Riehl; six brothers; Amos, Elias, Samuel, Elam Jr., Steven and Jacob; sisters, Anna Beiler, Aary and Mary; a great-grandson, Jaden Stoltzfus. A member of the Old Order Amish Church, Mr. Riehl was a self-employed painter and he enjoyed helping his children at market.
The funeral will be Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. from the late home. Viewing: at the late home from the time of this notice till the service. Interment: Gordonville Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
