     Nancy R Barry, 94 of Lancaster PA died peacefully in her sleep on Monday 1/22/2024. Born in Buffalo, NY in February of 1929, she was the youngest of three daughters of the late Frank and Marguerite Holland of Kenmore NY. Nancy was the wife of the late Martin J Barry Jr and is survived by her four children: M James (Christine), Douglas (Lisa), Catherine B Wasilewski (Jeffrey) and Janet B Connolly (Terrence), 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. 

     A graduate of the class of 1946 from Kenmore High School, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Indiana University/Bloomington.  She was a talented artist who was humble and truly gifted.  She was happiest when creating art for friends and loved ones.  A gifted writer, she was often called upon to compose a short story or poem for a special occasion.  She was an avid historian and story teller.  She was a pillar of the First Presbyterian Church of Buffalo, serving in every capacity from caregiver in the crib room to Elder and Trustee of the Church Session.  Always believing in the good in others, she gave freely and generously of her time and talents, from offering rides, to teaching English to new immigrants in the city, to stocking the food pantry, and countless other selfless acts.

     A Celebration of Life service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 18 Quarry Rd, Leola PA 17540, on Saturday, January 27th; visitation with family from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by a jubilant service celebrating Nancy’s life. Flowers are welcome; donations in lieu of flowers to Hospice & Community Care or Zion Lutheran Church Helping Hand fund, or First Presbyterian Church of Buffalo.

    A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 1 Symphony Circle, Buffalo, NY.
