Rhoda Mae Stoltzfus

10/25/2026

Rhoda Mae Stoltzfus (Zook), 80, of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 25. She was born August 14, 1946, in Lancaster County, the fourth of thirteen children of Amos and Linda (Yoder) Zook.

In 1963 she met Moses Stoltzfus. They were married in June, 1966 and together completed 1-W service at Bethesda Hospital from 1966 to 1968. After two years in Minerva, Ohio, they returned to Lancaster County, where they made their home and raised their family. Moses was ordained a minister at Charity Christian Fellowship in 1984; Rhoda stood faithfully beside him in that calling at Charity and then at Ephrata Christian Fellowship until the Lord took him home on December 6, 2020.

She was a strong and quiet believer whose faith showed itself in the kitchen and at the table. She loved to cook for her household and for the church, and she opened her home with uncommon hospitality. Though she had only one child of her own, she became a foster mother to many, among them Ben Cook, Maria Tavarez, and Leonida Gonzalez.

She is survived by her son, Myron D. Stoltzfus, Sr., of Payette, Idaho, and his wife, Lisa (Lichtenberger); by her grandchildren M. Dale Jr. married to Anna, Kristen married to Dustin Clay, Janna, Josiah, Elsie, Carl, and Caroline; and by fourteen great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Marie Yoder (OH), Edwin Zook (PA), Esther Glick (PA), Dorothy Glick (WV), Roy Zook (PA), Ray Zook (PA), Mark Zook (PA), and Elvin Zook (PA).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses; by her parents; and by her siblings Samuel Zook, Julia Ann Beiler, Paul Zook, and Lillian Burkholder.

Viewing at Ephrata Christian Fellowship (Ephrata Business Center) at 400 W. Main St., Ephrata, PA on Thursday, October 29, 2:00 – 4:00PM, 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral at Ephrata Christian Fellowship on Friday at 10:30 AM. Burial at Charity Christian Fellowship, 59 S. Groffdale Rd, Leola, PA 17517 immediately following the funeral service. A meal will be provided afterward.
