Robert Z. Getz, 80, of Leola, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Martindale, he was the son of the late Clayton and Mary Zinn Getz. He was married to Joan Hoffner Getz for 61 years on April 16th.
Robert worked at PA Scale Co. for 36 years and attended Salem Bible Church, Voganville. After retiring, he also worked as an Amish taxi driver.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: a son, Dale husband of Deb Getz, Akron; a daughter, Pat wife of Mark Overly, Leola; four grandchildren, Landon and Erinn Getz, both of Akron, Chad Overly, Pensacola,FL, Derick Overly, Lititz; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Rylee Overly; a sister, Grace Getz, Valdosta, GA. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Getz, and a sister Marlene Weidman.
Funeral services will be held from the Salem Bible Church, 590 Voganville Rd., New Holland on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11 am with interment following in Voganville Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
