Roger Alvin Poppe, 80, of Leola, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. Born in Highbridge, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Noel and Olivia Uitto Poppe and was the loving husband of the late Ethel Mae (Kritz) Poppe who died Aug. 2, 2016. They would have been married 56 years last August.
Mr. Poppe was a retired vice-president for Ross Technologies and was the founder of Poppe Distributing. He was a US Air Force veteran. A member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Lancaster, he enjoyed travelling, off-shore bill fishing and spending time with family.
Mr. Poppe will be lovingly missed by: two sons, Scott Poppe, Leola, Brian married to Melissa Schucker Poppe, Leola; two daughters, Debra Bomberger, Leola, Jeane Poppe, Ephrata; six grandchildren, Heather, Nicole, Tara, Julie, Jennifer, Jill and 1 on the way; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; siblings, John married to Maxine, Hayward, WI, Hank, Hibbing, MN, Olivia wife of Chuck Meyer, Mary Jane Holland both of West Bend, WI, Noel Jr., Rockford, IL; sister-in-law, Joyce Poppe, Ino, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews that he was very close to. He was preceded in death by a sister, Laverne Jean; and brothers, Marvin and Ralph.
