     Ronald Philip Esch, 81, of New Holland, PA passed away on Monday evening, April 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. Born in Carnegie, PA, Ron was the son of the late Richard L. and Ruth Peters Esch. Ron is the husband of Sue Fleming Esch with whom he shared nearly 58 years of marriage. 

     Ron had served with the U.S. Air Force in the 1950's, stationed in Korea.  After returning to the US and marrying Sue, he completed his degree in electrical engineering. During this time, Ron began his career at IBM, where he worked for 30 years in a number of locations in the US and abroad until his retirement in California in 1993. 

     While in California, Ron was a 27 year member of Los Gatos Presbyterian Church and most recently a member of Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster.  Ron was an avid golfer, as well as a lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan – both the Steelers and the Pirates. 

     Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sue, his three sons, David L Esch of White City, OR, R. Keith (Gwen L.) Esch of Chapel Hill, NC, and Michael P. (Carol A.) Esch of Lancaster, PA.  He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Matthew, Nicole, Lily, Benjamin, Andrew and Amanda, and two siblings: Wayne and Arlene. He was predeceased by his elder brother Richard.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service of Music and the Word to be held at Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Road, Lancaster, PA on Saturday, May 14 at 3pm with the Rev. Dr. Roger Rabey officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2pm until the time of the service.  If desired, donations may be sent in Ron's memory to the Salvation Army of Carnegie, 700 North Bell Avenue, Carnegie, PA  15106.
