Ruth J. (Woodring) Conklin, 90, a longtime Lancaster County resident, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Paramount Senior Living in Maytown. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Laura (Scherer) Woodring of Wilkes Barre. She was a 1946 graduate of Forty Fort High School. Ruth would meet the love of her life in a tall, handsome, returning Navy man, Glenn Conklin, in 1950. They would marry in 1951 and spend the next 67 years building a life and family together. Glenn died last July. Ruth enjoyed golfing, cross stitch and knitting. No grandchild or great-grandchild entered this world without a hand-knit pair of booties, sweater or hat.
She will be missed by: her 4 children, David Conklin, Cincinnati, OH, Gail (Michael) Hauck, Lancaster, Cheryl (Roger) Snyder, Elizabethtown, Jeff Conklin, Manheim; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Woodring, Wilmington, DE. She was preceded death by a sister, Marion Nicoldi.
How do we thank her for 60 years of a mother's love, birthday parties, Christmas mornings, and Thanksgiving dinners? We will always be grateful for her loving care. We celebrate her successful life knowing Glenn and Ruth are together again.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
