Ruth R. Lapp, 87, of 737 Mount Vernon Rd., Gap, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 of natural causes. She was the wife of Amos S. Lapp who died in 1998. Born in Bird-in-Hand, she was the daughter of the late Christian F. and Priscilla Riehl Petersheim. A homemaker, she was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Mrs. Lapp is survived by: her children, Mary P. married to Levi King, Gap, Christian P. married to Barbie Lapp, Newburg, John P. married to Rachel Lapp, McVeytown, Stephen R. of Lancaster, Samuel P. married to Miriam Lapp, Gordonville, Amos married to Sadie Lapp, Leah married to Reuben Riehl, both Gap, Annie married to Elam Stoltzfus, Kinzers; 40 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren; brother, Stephen married to Anna Petersheim and sister, Lydia married to Benuel Stoltzfus, both Strasburg; son-in-law, Christ married to Barbara Stoltzfus, Gap; brother-in-law, Abner U. Fisher, Millersburg. She was preceded in death by: a daughter, Priscilla Stoltzfus; sisters, Lizzie and Emma Fisher; brother, Moses Petersheim; grandchild, Martha Lapp; step-grandchild, Paul Stoltzfus.
The funeral will be 9 a.m. EST, Wednesday at the home of Elam Beiler, 5645 Umbletown Rd., Gap, PA. Interment: Gordonville Cemetery. Viewing: at the late home from the time of this notice till the service.
