S. Martin Felpel, 94, formerly of Stumptown Rd., Lancaster passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Fairmount Homes. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Katie Martin Felpel. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Ruth Hershey Felpel who died in 1976.
Martin was farmer and a truck driver delivering feed to various farms. He was a member of Stumptown Mennonite Church and volunteered for MCC and MRC for many years. He enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, and attending auctions at the New Holland Sales Stables.
Surviving are: three daughters, Martha wife of John High of Stevens, Jean wife of Irvin Sensenig of Stevens, Norma Felpel of New Ringgold; a son Mervin husband of Caroline Felpel of Gordonville; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Katherine wife of Ben Garber of Carlisle; a brother, John Felpel of Lititz. He was preceded in death by: two daughters; a son; two sisters; and a brother.
Funeral services will be held from the Stumptown Mennonite Church, 2813 Stumptown Rd. Bird-in-Hand, on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with interment following in the adjoining cemetery.
