Our beloved Sara Ellen Riehl, 95, of Lititz, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Brethren Village. Born in Gap, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jerry E. and Mable D. Neuhauser Troyer. She was the widow of the late Jesse L. Riehl who died in 2023. She was a member of Lancaster Evangelical Free Church, Lititz.
Sara Ellen had a lifelong love of music and played the mandolin from a young age. An avid gardener, she was always surrounded by flowers, and she also enjoyed puzzles and reading. Above all, her faith and family were at the center of her life. She taught those around her the importance of kindness and a warm smile, and the love and joy she carried were felt by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by: children, Linda J. wife of Jayme Steely of Lititz, Barbara J. wife of Barry Sieger of Georgetown, DE, Dennis K. husband of Tracy Shearer Riehl of Smoketown, Duane M. Riehl of Lancaster; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Jean wife of Amos Zook Jr. of New Holland, Jerry husband of Joyce Troyer of Goshen, IN and Alyce Groff of Intercourse.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 11:00 am at Lancaster Evangelical Free Church, 419 Pierson Road, Lititz, PA. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10-11:00 am at the church. Interment will be in Witness Park Cemetery.
