Shirley W. Deaver, 87, of Garden Spot Village, formerly of Leola entered into eternal life on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025. Born in Quarryville, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Kathryn Shaub Wimer. She was the devoted wife of Allen E. Deaver. They observed their 69th wedding anniversary in October.
Shirley was a secretary to the superintendent of the Eastern Lancaster County School District and served as Board Secretary for four years. She was a longtime member of Leola United Methodist Church serving on many committees. Shirley enjoyed socializing with friends, going to the beach with the Ya Yas, traveling, volunteering, gardening, and being around her family. Earlier in her life you may have found her riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle.
In addition to her husband, she will be lovingly missed by: her dog, Brandi; two daughters, Diane married to Jan High, Lititz, Cyndi Johnson, Lancaster; four grandchildren, Katie (Shane) Rupert, Dylan (Zorina) High, Vicki (Kyle) Downs, Mac Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Saul, Kade, Elli, Ian. Her brother, James Wimer, and her sister, Naomi Alexander preceded her in death.
Her Viewing will begin 9:00 am Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025 followed by the Celebration of Life service at 10 am: Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland.
