Shirline M. Evans, 92, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the faith that guided her life.
Shirline was born in Hines, Minnesota on January 27, 1934. She was one of twelve children born to Miles and Millicent (nee Owen) Evans, Shirline was a secretary and computer programmer for Unisys Corporation.
Shirline was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Eleanor Christiansen, Virgil Evans, Neil Evans, Glenyce Coffin, Wendell Evans, Ron Evans and Jean Gott. She is survived by her siblings; Arlis Kopperud, Victor Evans, Judy Kurschner, and Phyllis Cook, as well as many nephews and nieces.
Shirline was born on a small rural farm in Northern Minnesota. She moved to Minneapolis-St. Paul as an adult. Shirline later moved to Pennsylvania to support her mother and brother, Ron Evans’ family. Later in her retirement, she moved to Landis Homes in Lititz, PA.
Shirline was very close to her family, supporting a number of her siblings who served around the world as missionaries. She had a love of travel, needlework, writing poetry, and above all, playing Scrabble and doing crossword puzzles.
Shirline was a faithful member of Faith Community Church in Glenside, PA and Calvary Church in Lancaster, PA.
Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 27 at the West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes in Lititz, PA.
