Ted Gilmer, 75, of Leola, died Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Salem, OH, he was the son of the late John and Aurelia Burson Gilmer. He was the husband of Ruby Bontrager Gilmer and the late Linda Daniels Gilmer. Ted was a teacher for 43 years. First, he taught in southern and then, in northern California. In later years he taught at Faith Mennonite High School and the School District of Lancaster.
Besides his wife, Ted is survived by: children, Heather E. wife of Beau Bivins of Leola, David husband of Amy Gilmer of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren and six siblings. He was preceded in death by a sister and his late wife, Linda D. Gilmer.
The funeral will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Ephrata Christian Fellowship, 400 W. Main St., Ephrata, PA. Friends may call on Thursday at 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM at the church.
