Wilfredo Cruz, Jr., 44, of 220 South Lime Street, Quarryville, passed away at home on May 19, 2017. Born in Bronx, New York, he was the son of Wilfredo and Rosa Diaz. He was the beloved husband of Sarah N. Cruz. Wilfredo, also known by his friends as “June,” was a former corrections officer at Chester County Prison and EMT for Transcare Ambulance Company in Paoli. Pa., Keystone Quality Transport, Building 50 at Norristown State Hospital, and Transcare Ambulance in Queens, New York.
He attended Gap Community Church and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2012. Wilfredo was a skilled old school DJ and enjoyed music, horses, and spending time with his wife and children.
Besides his wife, Sarah, he is survived by his children, Wilfredo Benjamin Cruz, lll, Bridgette I. Cruz, Josiah G. Petersheim and Caleb M. Petersheim. Also surviving are all the members of his wife’s family whom he loved and cared for as if they were his own: Jessica R. Meyer, Rachel A. Meyer, Miriam G. Meyer, Caleb I. Meyer, all of Lancaster, Pa and Drs. Joshua and Jennifer Meyer of Dothan, Alabama, and one brother, Miguel Cruz of Bronx, NY.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 6-8 pm and on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm. All viewings and the memorial service will be held at the Jack Meyer family estate, White Chimneys, at 5117 Lincoln Hwy, Gap, PA 17527.
