William J. “Bill” Bloom, 63, of Lancaster, went home to be with our Lord and Savior following complications from lymphoma on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the M. S. Hershey Medical Center. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Calvin J. and Evelyn Koch Bloom. He was married for 43 wonderful years to Keri Burgess Bloom. Bill worked as National Sales Manager for Burnham Commercial. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Leola. An avid golfer and fisherman, he enjoyed connecting with God through nature. He enjoyed woodworking and was a NASCAR fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bill was a sensitive and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and will be greatly missed. Surviving in addition to his wife are: his daughter, Melinda wife of Ryan Stevens of Lancaster; his son Doug husband of Kristy Bloom of Kent, CT; 5 grandchildren, Emily, Braeden, Daniel, Griffin, and Harper; 2 sisters, Marjorie wife of Dennis Mori of Hemet, CA, Gretchen wife of Mark Brahaney, Salamanca, NY; 3 nephews, Kyle and Ryan Mori of California, Matthew Brahaney of New York. Funeral services will be held from Zion Lutheran Church 18 Quarry Rd. Leola, PA 17540 on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11 AM. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 11 AM at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church. Kindly designate in the memo “VBS Mission.” This mission is for children in Tanzania, Africa and is a passion of his granddaughter, Emily.
